Tiroler Reine – Glacier Milk – Liquid Soap 300ml
Tiroler Reine Glacier Milk Liquid Soap smells like laundry washed with soft mountain water. This liquid soap, which can be used for both hand washing and showering, stands for tradition.
Glacier Milk – the scent of the Alps
The barren Sellrain Valley in the Stubai Alps offered its inhabitants a source as a basis of life: GLACIER MILK. This crystalline, soft water from the Melach mountain stream was perfectly suited for cleaning laundry due to its degree of hardness. For over 200 years, the women, men, and children of the valley spent their days by the banks of the river in their wash-houses, tasked with processing the linens of the households from nearby Innsbruck in their ovens and tubs. On sunny summer days, the valley flanks and slopes shone white with laundry spread out on the grass and hung between trees and bushes. Wind and sun were meant to dry and bleach the clothes, imbuing them with the incomparable scent of the valley. Some of the Sellrain farmers exchanged pure beef tallow for valuable soap at the Walde soap factory. In Tiroler Reine soap, the color of glacier milk, which fills the mountain streams during the snow and ice melt, combines with the scent of grandmother’s times.
Tiroler Reine – Liquid soap from Innsbruck
Tiroler Reine liquid soaps are authentic soaps: unlike conventional liquid soaps, they are produced using traditional manufacturing methods in kettles on a soap base – without synthetic surfactants, but with a natural glycerin content. The selected raw materials consist of high-quality, nourishing olive and coconut oils, beeswax, which contributes to a pleasant consistency, and Tyrolean beef tallow, which was used in earlier times for soap production. This traditional and local ingredient has a moisturizing effect and ensures a fine, creamy lather.
Tiroler Reine, a concept by Therese Fiegl, is a soap that incorporates the centuries-old knowledge of the Walde family of soap makers to create distinctive soaps. Each soap tells its own story, from the Sellrain washerwomen and the glacier milk, to the alpine rose and love, the forget-me-not, the resilience of the birch, alpine valerian, the cowslip as a harbinger of spring, the freshness of mountain mint, and elderberry, which conveys protection and security.
These bottles are slightly thinner, however, which leads to indentations during filling. If you open the flip-top cap briefly, the dented area will even out again.
No preservatives or emulsifiers are added to Tiroler Reine liquid soaps. As a result, changes in viscosity or color settling may occasionally occur. A few hours in a warm place, for example in the sun on a windowsill, and a vigorous shake will restore the original state.
