Mountain Mint – the scent of the Alps
If we are to believe the ancient Greeks, we owe the sharp, cool, aromatic fragrance of mountain mint to the great love between Hades, god of the underworld, and the nymph Minthe. When you lightly touch the lush green, serrated leaves, they release a scent that fills the entire room with freshness. This is caused by the release of the essential oil menthol. Since earliest times, mint has been considered a symbol of hospitality, vitality, and above all, passionate love. In ancient times, brides and grooms would adorn themselves with wreaths of mint. A dining table rubbed with mint leaves offered guests a sense of exceptional freshness, while a mint wreath used as a table decoration was intended to express a wish for well-being into old age. The character of the Tiroler Reine Mountain Mint is, in keeping with the power of mint, strong and clear, fresh and lively.
Tiroler Reine – Bar of Soap
Exquisite ingredients, at least 3 milling processes, and extraordinary alpine scents characterize the Tiroler Reine soaps from the Walde company. For the base substance of the soap, Tiroler Reine has chosen shea butter, as there is no local plant-based soap base that comes close to this quality. The shea butter from the nuts of the shea tree comes from Burkina Faso in West Africa. The nuts are collected as part of a women's project founded in 2009 called ABPJF (Association Burkinabé pour la Promotion de la Jeune Fille).
The special feature of the vegetable fat in shea butter is the high degree of replenishment it provides when using the soap. Every bar of Tiroler Reine soap also disappears completely in the bathroom: thanks to the low water and air content, the soap does not break into small pieces after it has been used for some time, but remains a supple, wonderfully scented piece of soap with a fine, creamy lather until the very end.
The scents of the Tiroler Reine range are expertly composed fragrances modeled on nature.
Tiroler Reine, an idea by Therese Fiegl, is a soap that incorporates the centuries-old knowledge of the Walde soap-maker family to create unique soaps. Each soap tells its own story, from the washerwomen of Sellrain and glacier milk, to the alpine rose and love, the forget-me-not, the resilience of the birch, the alpine valerian, the cowslip as a herald of spring, the freshness of mountain mint, and finally elderflower, which conveys protection and comfort.
