Hay – The Scent of the Alps
The scent of sun-dried HAY triggers a special sense of well-being. Our local mountain meadows boast a great variety of grasses, alpine flowers, and wild herbs. They are the guarantee of alpine biodiversity, a paradise of freshness for livestock in summer, and the pantry for feeding them during the long winter months. The hay is carefully cut at the peak of its bloom in early June and air-dried. The hay grasses incorporated into our solid soaps come from these Tyrolean mountain meadows. Grass and hay have always been, and remain, of great value to humans. Generations ago, people would use a handful of hay placed between a tiled stove and their back, allowing the warmth of the hay to work its magic. Hay baths were already being used in the 19th century. With our soap, it is almost as if you were lying in a hay barn, drifting into a cozy sleep.
Tiroler Reine – Bar Soap
Exquisite ingredients, at least 3 milling processes, and extraordinary alpine scents characterize the Tiroler Reine soaps from the Walde company. Tiroler Reine has chosen shea butter as the base substance for the soap, as there is no local plant-based soap base that comes close to this quality. The shea butter from the nuts of the shea tree comes from Burkina Faso in West Africa. The nuts are collected as part of a women's project founded in 2009 called ABPJF (Association Burkinabé pour la Promotion de la Jeune Fille).
What is special about the vegetable fat in shea butter is the high degree of lipid replenishment when using the soap. Every bar of Tiroler Reine soap also disappears completely in the bathroom: thanks to the low water and air content, the soap does not break into small pieces when it has been used for a while, but remains a smooth, wonderfully fragrant bar of soap with a fine, creamy lather until the very end.
The fragrances of Tiroler Reine are masterfully composed scents inspired by nature.
Tiroler Reine, an idea by Therese Fiegl, is a soap that incorporates the centuries-old knowledge of the Walde soap-making family to create unique soaps. Each soap tells its own story, from the washerwomen of Sellrain and glacier milk, to the alpine rose and love, the forget-me-not, the resilience of the birch, the alpine valerian, the cowslip as a harbinger of spring, the freshness of mountain mint, and elderberry, which conveys protection and comfort.
