The extraordinary powers of the majestic PINE, which can live up to 1,000 years, have been appreciated and utilized for centuries. Our ancestors already used this unique wood in many ways. Heated debates took place in cozy pine parlors, children were placed in cradles made of pine wood, and valuable garments were stored in pine chests. The unmistakable scent of our soaps, for which we use pure Tyrolean pine oil, reflects the primal power of the Queen of the Alps, as Pinus cembra is rightly called.
Tiroler Reine – Palm Oil-Free Soap Bar
Exquisite ingredients, at least 3 milling processes, and extraordinary alpine scents characterize the Tiroler Reine Pine Soap from the Walde company. As the basic substance for the pine soap, Tiroler Reine chose shea butter, as there is no local plant-based soap base that comes close to this quality. The shea butter from the nuts of the shea tree comes from Burkina Faso in West Africa. The nuts are collected as part of a women's project called ABPJF (Association Burkinabé pour la Promotion de la Jeune Fille), founded in 2009.
The special thing about the vegetable fat in shea butter is its good moisturizing properties when using the soap. Every bar of Tiroler Reine soap is 100 percent biodegradable and completely disappears even in the bathroom: Thanks to its low water and air content, the soap does not break into small pieces when it has been used for some time, but remains a smooth, wonderfully scented piece of soap with a fine, creamy lather until the very end.

Tiroler Reine, an idea by Therese Fiegl, is a soap that incorporates the centuries-old knowledge of the Walde soap-making family to create unmistakable soaps. Each soap tells its own story, from the washerwomen of Sellrain and glacier milk, to the alpine rose and love, the forget-me-not, the resilience of the birch, alpine spikenard, to primroses as harbingers of spring, the freshness of mountain mint, and elderflower, which conveys protection and security.
