Elderberry – the scent of the Alps
Since the Middle Ages, an ELDER TREE was an essential protector around homes and farms. The “holuntar” was considered the “tree of Holle,” the archetype of the wise earth mother, who was believed to be a benevolent spirit protecting inhabitants from illness and misfortune. Therefore, it was unthinkable to fell the tree or burn its wood; farmers would reverently tip their hats to it, and on the magical Midsummer Night, young girls would shake its branches, hoping to see the man of their lives in their dreams that followed. The strongly scented, creamy white elderflowers appear in June in flat umbels, giving the popular elderflower syrup its unmistakable taste. The black-violet berries of autumn, which are processed into jam and juice, prepare us for the cold season. The Tiroler Reine Elderberry soap conveys deep strength in its color and a strong spirit in its fragrance.
Tiroler Reine – fine liquid soap
Tiroler Reine liquid soaps are true soaps: unlike conventional liquid soaps, they are produced using traditional manufacturing methods in soap-based kettles – without synthetic surfactants, but with natural glycerin content. The selected raw materials consist of high-quality, nourishing olive and coconut oils, beeswax, which contributes to a pleasant consistency, and Tyrolean beef tallow, which was used in earlier times for the production of soaps. This traditional and local ingredient has a replenishing effect and ensures a fine, creamy lather.
Tiroler Reine, an idea by Therese Fiegl, is a soap that incorporates the centuries-old knowledge of the Walde soap-maker family to create unmistakable soaps. Each soap tells its own story, from the laundresses of Sellrain and glacier milk, to the alpine rose and love, the forget-me-not, the resilience of the birch, the alpine valerian, the cowslip as a harbinger of spring, and the freshness of mountain mint, all the way to the elderberry, which conveys protection and security.
These bottles are slightly thinner, which can lead to indentations during filling. However, if you open the flip-top cap briefly, the indented area will return to its original shape.
No preservatives or emulsifiers are added to Tiroler Reine liquid soaps. As a result, changes in viscosity or color sedimentation may occur from time to time. A warm location provides a remedy: place the bottle in a sunny window for a few hours and then shake it well, and the soap will look as usual again.
