Alpine Rose – The Scent of the Alps
When the slopes of the Alps glow crimson up past the tree line in May and June, the blooming season of the ALPINE ROSE has begun or is approaching its peak. Various, sometimes contradictory, qualities have been attributed to the heath plant known as the alpine rose (also called Almrausch or Donnerrösl) in folklore: superstitious mountain hikers would throw their bouquets of alpine roses away at the approach of a thunderstorm for fear of being struck by lightning. Conversely, farmers in North Tyrol would nail alpine roses to the ridge beams of their farmhouses to protect them from "thunder and lightning." In the romantic language of flowers, it is the symbol of lovers. If a secret admirer brought his beloved an alpine rose, it meant "When shall we see each other again?" and was meant to promise future happiness. The delicate, sweet scent of the soap is intended to evoke this incomparable, intimate feeling of first love.
Tiroler Reine – Soap Bar
Exquisite ingredients, at least 3 milling processes, and exceptional alpine fragrances characterize the Tiroler Reine soaps by the Walde company. For the soap's base substance, Tiroler Reine has chosen shea butter, as there is no local vegetable soap base that comes close to this quality. The shea butter from the nuts of the shea tree comes from Burkina Faso in West Africa. The nuts are harvested as part of a women's project founded in 2009 called ABPJF (Association Burkinabé pour la Promotion de la Jeune Fille).
The special feature of the vegetable fat in shea butter is its excellent lipid-replenishing quality during use. Every bar of Tiroler Reine soap remains intact in the bathroom: thanks to its low water and air content, the soap does not crumble into small pieces after extended use, but remains a smooth, wonderfully fragrant bar of soap with a fine, creamy lather until the very end.
The fragrances of the Tiroler Reine line are masterfully composed scents modeled after nature.
Tiroler Reine, a concept by Therese Fiegl, is a soap that incorporates the centuries-old knowledge of the Walde soap-maker family to create unique products. Each soap tells its own story, from the laundresses of Sellrain and glacier milk, to the alpine rose and love, the forget-me-not, the resilience of the birch, the alpine valerian, the cowslip as a harbinger of spring, the freshness of mountain mint, and finally elderberry, which conveys protection and comfort.
