Pine Scent – the Scent of the Alps
The extraordinary powers of the majestic PINE, which can live up to 1,000 years, have been valued and used for centuries. Our ancestors already used this unique wood in many ways. Heated debates were held in cozy pine rooms, children were placed in cradles made of pine wood, and valuable clothing was stored in pine chests. The unmistakable scent of our soaps, for which we use pure Tyrolean pine oil, reflects the primal power of the Queen of the Alps, as Pinus cembra is rightly called.
Tiroler Reine – Pine Candle
The Tiroler Edle pine candle, like the Tiroler Reine soaps, is produced in the Walde Manufactory in Innsbruck, because the Walde family not only has a long tradition of soap making, but candles have also been handmade there for generations. The basis for these wonderful, purely natural candles is pure beef tallow from Tyrolean Grey cattle, as well as high-quality sunflower and beeswax. With great care and feeling, the candles are handmade, the wicks are inserted, and the still liquid wax is poured by hand into the beautifully shaped glasses. Fine and unobtrusive, the candles spread the scent of the Alps for many hours.
To ensure the pine candle burns for as long as possible, we recommend letting it burn until a small hollow forms around the candle wick. This way, it will burn down completely in approx. 50 hours of burning time, and only a small wax rim will remain on the glass. Before relighting, it is advisable to trim the wick to 1cm in length with scissors to prevent the candle from smoking. To extinguish the candle, our tip is to briefly dip the burning wick into the wax with a burnt match, so no smoke is produced as would happen when blowing it out, and the pine scent lingers in the room for a long time.
